My Massage Story

Born and raised in a small town and exposed to many diversities starting in my teens, I slowly learned to invest in myself and my personal healing. I developed the love of walking and exercise in my teen years and thought that was enough for my well-being but I was wrong about that thought. My career and personal life both pulled me down over the years and through the stressors of life, I discovered MASSAGE THERAPY to invest in myself.

“I think I was about 20 years old when I had my first Swedish Massage. Fast forward 25 years and now I am a Massage Therapist.”

When I invest in something or someone, I invest fully. I experimented with different therapists over the years and although each was different, there was one commonality. I always felt different after each massage. I started to go once a month and after I did that consistently, I noticed the tension in my mind and body relaxed. The more I went the better it got and the better it got, the better I felt.

What I have learned most is you have to pay attention to your own body. Some months I need neuromuscular therapy because I have some deep-rooted stress and tension and sometimes, I just need some Swedish Massage love to take me away to another place. I find that when I am open and honest with my own needs, my therapist gives me just what I need. I will continue with my own personal monthly massages for the duration. I think I was about 20 years old when I had my first Swedish Massage. Fast forward 25 years and now I am a Massage Therapist. WOW.

My Massage Approach

My therapeutic style is diverse with each client and my additional background in psychology enables me to understand the connection between the mind, body, and soul. My attitude is consistent with each client, and I will be kind, committed and inspirational. If you allow me, I will push you therapeutically when you need to go beyond to reach your goals and/or you have plateaued. I will do my best to provide you with what you and your body can tolerate.
My personal favorite massage to give is a bit of a personal created Hybrid but I am a Neuromuscular Therapist by nature, combining some Myofascial Release with deep stretching of the area I am working on.  Each body is different, and that allows me to provide a different experience with every single massage. I love that.
What motivates me most in treatment? I thrive on issues to solve, and I really enjoy treating the head, neck, shoulders and back. I will explore and discover what I think will work for the symptoms you are experiencing in the hopes of reducing them. Massage will not cure, but I will do my best to help alleviate your pain and symptoms. You must continue the work by not doing the things that are straining your body and find ways to do them in a different way, focusing on self- awareness of your posture. Otherwise, we will only be continually treating symptoms.
I am not a Swedish Massage Therapist, and this is not my passion.
